There’s something truly special about spending some time out in the fields, searching for the plumpest, juiciest berries. It’s a chance to reconnect with the land, enjoy the outdoors, and taste strawberries at their absolute freshest. Kids love the treasure hunt, adults savour the fresh air and views, and everyone goes home with a punnet of red delights to enjoy.
How to go Strawberry Picking at Ashbern Farms
- Head to the shop on arrival to collect a tray and find out which field is open for PYO.
- Hunt for the reddest berries you can find
- Head to the shop to weigh your fruit and pay
- Enjoy a strawberry ice cream or cold drink after your hard work
- Wear comfy clothes and don’t forget a hat and sunscreen. Gumboots are handy if it’s been raining!
- The quietest times on the farm are usually early afternoons
- Check farm updates: Weather and berry ripeness can change quickly—check our website or socials before heading out.
